My signature à la carte approach has a salutary effect.
It is maddening when we forage and languish.
We become embroiled or are given binary options and asked for superfluous information.
The dichotomy is false or looked upon from a reductionist view.
Health professionals are largely taught to ‘cure illnesses’ by just treating symptoms, and the training given is not useful for the current epidemic of chronic lifestyle-related conditions.
We are treating a different collection of diseases than we did 60 years ago, with fewer infectious conditions and more conditions that come out of the environment we have created for comfort.
‘Biopsychosocial’ diseases cannot be solved with a biological (pharmaceutical) pill.
Your thoughts, emotions, and actions, in that order, are influenced by the people and information within you.
Thought processes become habitual, programmed into your mind over time.
Some people wake up after years of robotic living wondering where the time went.
Only when you can unemotionally assess your life can you introduce the real possibility of change.
The fact is that you have to live with yourself 24 hours a day.
This is why living in alignment is crucial.
Giving yourself awareness is the first step in any change.
As one psychologist says, “If you are constantly performing at life, you are not living life.”
Take off those masks and start to live.
I connect in multitudinous ways, with kindness and compassion, ambition and drive, and with appreciation as a connoisseur.
I leverage nearly two decades of experience in the National Health Service (NHS), across over 20 different general family health practices and corporate well-being.
I am entrenched in holistic wellness, coaching and mentoring, and cultural and corporate know-how, supported by evidence-based motivational and behavioural science with a special interest in population health and optimum performance.
I use no templates, and every interaction is unique. I am qualified and accredited by multiple professional bodies.
Data show that the health span – the number of years a person lives in good health – has decreased globally.
During my professional career, I have spent over 20,000 hours one-to-one, routinely helping and empowering my patients and clients to slow down any early disease they have: The shorter the time they have the disease, the better their quality of life is likely to be.
We all age identically chronologically and eventually die, but biologically some people age substantially faster than others. This inequality in the rate of biological ageing is largely preventable.
Having conducted thousands of consultations in NHS general practice, one of many that firmly sticks in my mind is a smartly dressed 95-year-old gentleman who visited me to discuss slightly raised blood sugar on the borderline.
I was taken aback when I had a glimpse of his medical record and asked, “What’s your secret?” He replied, “I’ve never retired”. Furthermore, he asserted,
“Don’t stop doing things because you grow old.
You grow old when you stop doing things.”
When I reflect on my two decades of adult life with a rich tapestry of life experiences through work and play, most of my learnings have been through human interactions.
“Soft” language is like connection, vulnerability and well-being in the arenas of “hard” performance at the highest level under the greatest pressure.
I had the privilege of mentoring young adults in my university days. I became involved in politics and was a chairperson for the youth division of a mainstream political party. I took part in summer backpacking trips, got involved with the local speaker’s club, attended hundreds of weekend retreats and was involved in a collaborative healthy beverages venture.
Travelling, culture, dining, entrepreneurship, retreats, relationships, and the corporate world, and the list goes on, converge distinctively.
In a world of global connectivity, let me assure you, confidentiality and discretion are always guaranteed and I only work with persons aged 18 or over.
In cases of trauma or grief, I signpost to counselling or therapists.
My work is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
I am upfront about my fees and I do not do sales pitches.
My countless results speak for themselves.
